Winter in the Sunshine State

We at Horse Human Experience love the winter. Seems odd since I lived in Upstate New York for years and the winter months were the busiest. We do stay away from working in the heart of summer here, so that is when I go back to the Northeast to visit friends.

We have had a busy winter with groups and individuals, and the herd has been fantastic. Shyla and Jazzy have been joined by a sweet sorrel quarter horse named Nellie and a big, tall Buckskin named Mocha. Nellie is retired from barrel racing, where she traveled from south Florida all over the southeast and as far as Texas. I have been working on more whoa than go, and she has settled in just beautifully. Mocha came out of a very stressful living environment, and we have been just showing her lots of love and giving her a good healthy diet.

We are excited about hosting a summer camp for a small group of girls. They are all horse crazy, and we will have the time to give them an experience that will be with them for the rest of their lives.

I am in constant awe of the power of the horse.
