We have been holding small intimate camps this summer, and they have been enjoyable. We do it three hours in the morning and three times a week. That leaves plenty of time for summer fun.
The kids cleaned stalls, painted horses, and rode.
We had one of our barn mates, Payton, a youth barrel racing champion, join the group. The girls got to ride her horse Sunny and get a feel for barrels. Tons of fun.
Payton's best idea was "let's take the horses swimming in the pond," and we did since it was sweltering. The experience of being on horseback in the water where the horses are buoyant and float.
As you can see, we all had a great time.
