I had another great summer and fall working with Northern Rivers and Parsons, both residential youth care facilities in Albany, New York. Getting these kids outside and with horses has proven to be very therapeutic. The sessions include time for them to sit and be with themselves and the horses. The environment at some of these residents can be chaotic, and giving these kids a chance to be quiet and creative provides a safe and calm setting. I am in my third year with some of these kids, and I look forward to seeing them next year.
