We hosted a group of women from a residential recovery facility called Elizabeth’s House for a two hour session with the horses. Cat Capowski, Michelene Wilson and myself spent two hours with these amazing women who were ready to meet our herd.
The mission at Elizabeth’s House is to empower each woman who walks through their doors. Through honest and compassionate care they help individuals, families and communities overcome the harmful effects of addiction and rise above barriers to healing through an array of quality care and preventative programs. Hudson Mohawk Recovery Center and Elizabeth’s House respects each individual’s unique journey through the recovery process and believes that the disease of addiction is both preventable and treatable.
The visit was powerful and we are in the process of bringing them back for additional visits.
